The Beneplan Employee Benefits Co-operative is a member-owned, not-for-profit buying group whose goal is to reduce employee benefits plan premiums using volume purchasing power. Significant long-term savings are achieved through lower administration fees and better target loss ratios (margins). Members receive refunds from health, dental, group life and long-term disability insurance, and retail sales tax, when claims are lower than expected. When claims exceed projections, the deficit is absorbed by the co-operative.
